One City, One Journey

One City, One Journey is a journey planner for Ahmedabad that puts the Metro, BRTS and AMTS city buses into one plan. Type where you start and where you are going, pick a time, and get up to three options. Each one shows real bus times from the public timetables, the metro line and stations, every transfer walk in minutes and metres, and one fare for the whole trip.

What you can do: - Plan a trip between the 53 metro stations and about 3,000 AMTS and BRTS stops, at any time of day. - See every step: which bus to catch and when, where to change, how far to walk and when you arrive. - Pay one fare for the whole trip, for example ₹30 instead of ₹40 for three separate tickets. - See a fair fare split: what the Metro (GMRC), BRTS and AMTS each get from the one fare. - Use it with no signal. After the first visit the timetables are stored on the phone, so it works underground and in airplane mode.

Try the sample trip: Naroda Gam to Shivranjani at 18:30. You get three options in under a tenth of a second. The fastest takes 73 minutes and costs ₹30.

Who it is for: daily riders who live or work far from a metro station, such as office workers, students and shop staff. It also helps the operators and the city win those riders back.

Honest limits: bus times come from the timetable, not live GPS. Fares are estimates, and the ₹5 discount per change and the 2% fee are our proposals. Walks use straight-line distance and the metro wait is an average. Gandhinagar city buses are not included because they have no public timetable.

Data: AMTS and BRTS timetables (croyla/amd-gtfs), metro lines from OpenStreetMap, metro times from GMRC public information.

I built this for Metro Hacks: Midnight Edition by GDG Gandhinagar, held on board a Gujarat Metro train on 10 October 2026, for problem PS-08 "One City, One Journey".

In Ahmedabad the Metro, BRTS and AMTS each have their own ticket and app, and nothing shows a trip that uses more than one, so many people give up and take a bike or a car. I wanted one plan and one fare for the whole trip. The data and an empty app shell were ready before the ride; the planner was built on the train.
